Dear All,

Next Tuesday, July 20th, is our last meeting before the long summer break. The meeting will be held at Sherwood Pines & run by Lindsey Brown who is the Forestry Ranger there. We will be meeting in the Education centre at 6.30pm, which is to the left of the cycle hire building. Parking is �1 after 6pm follow this link for a detailed map:

If we could all bring a few snacks for afterwards for us all to share that would be great. Also if you have any ideas for particular orienteering skills we can look at after the summer break, it would help in planning of the exercises we do. Please keep a watch on the NOC website to where/ when the club will be running in September.

Thanks again for all your support this year and if there are any events locally that you may think we could attend to promote the club please drop us a line.

The Sweatshop Running Store in Nottingham has a summer sale which begins this Saturday, June 26th.

Sweatshop has invited several experts in to give a series of free talks to help runners prepare for the Experian Robin Hood Festival of Running. The following talks are open to anyone whether you are a seasoned runner or complete beginner and will be of interest to the majority of runners, regardless of your particular goals.

Wed 30th June- Fitness Testing and Effective Training Recording

Wed 7th July- Fueling Your Runs with Emma Kingzett (Sports Scientist from Lucozade)

Wed 14th July- Fit to Run -Cross Training Advice with Carl Dunstan (Physiotherapist from Atherapy)

Wed 21st July- Sports Bras � Taking Care of your Assets with Shock Absorber

Wed 28th July- TBC

Wed 4th August- Effective Recovery and Strategy with Emma Kingzett

Wed 11th August- Effective Training Recording with Garmin Watches

Wed 18th August- What if I get Injured? with Carl Dunstan

Wed 25th August- Fitness Testing and Effective Training Recording with Mark Buckingham

Wed 1st September- Race Day Strategy and Focus with Emma Kingzett

Wed 8th September- Recovery Post Event with Carl Dunstan

Yes I remember it well.

I know I raised this point several times in the past but unsure of whether this has ever been persued as an option. Perhaps Bob would care to fill us in on the alternative options that may be available?
( He's away at present) ?

I do know that parking on the road below Kidney Clump is not allowed ( and a... shall we say unenthuesiastic nearby landowner) and it may be that there is no longer vehicular access to the once used parking area?

Wasn't it possible to park in the FC part like we did many years ago? That way you wouldn't have to pay the high NT fee only the FC fee. The only bit we couldn't use was the open land in the middle where people park.

You will have no doubt seen that entry fees are higher than normal for this weekends event.
Despite the clubs best attempts the NT has refused to allow us to charge seperately for the car parking and insisted that we levy a charge on every competitor irrespective of whether they are NT members or not.

Those of you that are NT members may care to drop a line to the NT to express your disatisfaction at the URL below. Remember that this is just another attempt by the powers that be to squeeze every drop of revenue out of us and can only lead to yet more increased local event fees and probably fewer high quality events.

Hello,

I'm an orienteer from Belgium. I come in Nottingham during two months for my job, from 20th April to 19th June.
I'm very interested by the activities of your club. Could you explain me if it's possible to join your club for two months? Do you organise training?
I've seen also that a competition is organised on 25th April, next to Nottingham. Could you confirm me this information?
