Is anyone going to either Huntingdon city race (20 Mar); Belvoir (21 mar)
or Pickering (Sat 27 and/or Sun 28 - stay overnight or retun daily)
I'd be grateful for a lift / share transport (from M1 area)

I'm going down on Friday afternoon and competing at both Cookworthy and Braunton Burrows but coming home via Manchester on Sunday pm. Intending to camp near Woolacombe. Happy to car share if this is any help. The car will no doubt be filled with all the usual gourmet food and drinks!

A selection of the tops and hoodies will be available on Sunday at Thieves wood, they will be located at the string course, cheques payable to NOC.

Hi
Any one going down to the JK for just the Sunday or Sunday/Monday and willing to share transport/driving/costs etc either in mine or yours.
I don't fancy really Cookworthy but any chance to run on Broughton Burrows should not ever be passed up so willing to go earlier.
Hoping to either hostel or camp accordingly as lots of the alternatives have already filled up

I have been asked to pass on the following info.

Entries are now open!

A 5K running race on grass, paths and trails through Bramcote Park. An ideal race for beginners and those looking for an extra cheap challenge to add to their running calendar!

Date: Friday 16th April 2010
Venue: Bramcote Park, Bramcote, Nottingham
Time: 6.45pm Start
Cost: �5 per person (�4 Online!)

Deadline for entries is Friday 9th April 2010!
Entries on the day will be accepted if the race limit has not been met (�7 per person)

Also Children's 1K Fun Run starting at 6.30pm.

I'm being a bit cheeky in using this forum to publicise this, but it has only recently been reinstated after cancellation due to snow on 9th January, so you might not have seen it on British Orienteering website.

Treeton is an interesting woodland very close to Junction 33 of the M1, so not far for those who wish to make a weekend of it.

It was an enjoyable and sociable journey on the coach - I would encourage others to come another year.

Another important thing to remember: even if you don't think that you would 'count' for the NOC team (and we need 25 to count) you may also help NOC by pushing down potential counters from other clubs which is just as valuable.

Girls: we need more of you to be part of the team and you now count separately from the boys!

My thanks to all of the hardy souls who travelled to Norfolk on Sunday. We were only just beaten and, in reality, had one more member taken part and their score counted, we would have won. This was a very creditable performance, given our depleted numbers. This fixture takes place in East Anglia every two years and I wonder what else we could consider to encourage more members to travel and support the club when it next takes place?
