Terrain:
A small area of mixed forest with path network and steep slopes in parts.
Visited by DC and AR in 2012/2013 as a possibility to map and use.
No further progress to date with mapping or obtaining permissions.
The area is owned by Thornley Estate.
The adjacent area of Lings Wood and Warren Plantation on the opposite side of the road was (as at 2013) reserved for shooting and would not have been available.
This area was used for events in the past.
It is private land, and like all private areas used for orienteering there is NO ACCESS ALLOWED at any time.

A reminder: Access to any private land is by permission only. Organised events can only be held with permission even on public land. Possession of an orienteering map DOES NOT give permission to enter private land. Public land and public footpaths may be used at any time for individual access. Access to some areas will be embargoed from the time an event is announced - even public areas.
