Joining NOC and British Orienteering

Membership is via British Orienteering – the national governing body for the sport, and is for a calendar year. Your age at 31st Dec of each year determines which class you have to compete in to be competitive.

How to join

To become a member of Nottinghamshire Orienteering Club you can only join through British Orienteering. You can join as a Senior, Young Adult, Junior or as a Family.

How much does membership cost?

The cost is dependent on membership type:
Junior – any member up to age 20
Young Adult – any member aged 21-25
Senior – any member aged over 26
A Family discount is given for larger families living at the same address.

The membership fee consists of 3 parts; The club, the regional body - East Midlands Orienteering Association and the sport's national governing body - British Orienteering.

As a member you will receive:

  • NOC members when they help at a NOC event get a free entry (e.g. helping at the start or finish)
