Burntstump
Burntstump
Saturday 5th December at Burntstump Country Park 11am to 1pm
How can I improve my fitness?
How can I be sure to find that elusive pit/tripod/boulder I lost a lot of time finding at the last event?
Come and find out some answers to those questions with the help of NOC coaches. There will be some exercise ideas and some technical help - you will be able to practise at your own level and there will be no results or split times.
You might improve your orienteering going to events every weekend OR you can fast-track improvement by coming to club training with friendly coaches and a pub on site where we can have a drink and some food afterwards.
Parking: Burntstump Inn, NG5 8PQ
Please let me know if you plan to come so I know how many maps to print

Many thanks to everyone who came to Clumber Park on Sunday morning. Sorry that you did not get a run. The National Trust made the decision to close the park at 9am due to the forecast of gusts of wind up to 53mph. It proved to be the correct decision as trees were heard falling in the forest where some of the courses were planned to go. Rather be safe than have someone hit by a tree.

C.S. Cup entries close this Friday
A quick message from team captain Andy Llewellyn.
Sorry for the slight email bombardment in recent weeks but please take this as my final email on the CSC. The final entry deadline is this Friday 27th February, so please get your entries in - we've only got 24 so far on Fabian 4. So we're still short of a team and of course, the more the runners we have the better chance we have from pushing other competitors down etc.
PLEASE DON'T MISS THE DEADLINE - enter here: http://www.fabian4.co.uk/default.aspx?EventID=1201
I was out in the area on Saturday tagging all the control sites and can confirm the snow has done wonders for the forest this year, it promises to be a memorable event.
Thanks :-)

A big thanks to all those who attended Silverhill Wood on Sunday. A cold start (see frozen photos further down the page) then produced almost tropical weather! Paul Hudson's well planned courses produced many a positive comment, thanks to Paul and those who took the time to have a chat with him afterwards.
The long technical saw Brian Ward(HALO) lead home the pack ahead of Paul Morris(NOC) and Sally Calland (WIM)
The short technical had Matthew Litchfield(NOC) blast round the course followed by Richard Naish(DVO) , Martin Wheeler (LOG) and Peter Cholerton(NOC)
A quick change from her duties on registration saw Julie Webster (NOC) squeeze home against Toby Williams(LOG)
The juniors from Bassetlaw dominated the introductory course, taking the 1st 4 places on the 1.9k course.
1st Tristan Isherwood
2nd Mason Heslop
3rd Elsa Buchanan and Joshua McDonald
4th Jake Biggin + Archie Sims
Also, a great effort from Freddie Coulson, Kishna Haldipur, Olivia Payne, Amy Briggs and Megan Perkins
